Swami Premajyoti Saraswati
Swami Premajyoti’s journey into yoga and mysticism began in 2008 in New Zealand with the discovery and study of advanced meditation practices under the guidance of Swami Shantimurti Saraswati. The depth of this connection to ancient teaching and techniques both stirred and fueled her development within yoga. From this beginning, she completed formal Yoga Teacher training with Ashram Yoga in 2009 and continued on to become a highly trained and broadly experienced guide and practitioner within the classical traditions of Kriya, Tantra and Yoga
In 2012, Premajyoti received initiation into the Saraswati order of Dashanami Sannyāsins and soon after, initiation as a Tantric Pujari within Kaula Marg Tantra from Swami Ayyappa Giri.
Swami Premajyoti’s background spans several traditions of yoga including, Hatha, Raja, Kriya, Vedanta and Tantra. Currently based at Yogini Ashram, California USA, she serves Mahaavatar Kriya Babaji and Jaganmata Kali in their respective temples and is a senior teacher. Premajyoti also regularly travels to India to refresh and reconnect with the energies and sacred home of her path.
Her teaching blends techniques firmly rooted in the ancient traditions with a background and broad past experience as a professional, masters level counselor and mentor. Premajyoti holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology. She was a teacher and therapist in schools for many years before shifting to full immersion with her path of guiding and service within Yoga.
Swami Premajyoti teaches yoga Asana, Pranahatha Yoga ®, Pranayama, cleansing practices, Meditation, Tantric Kriya, Prana Vidya, Mantra Vidya and Yoga Nidra, as vehicles to create more strength, balance, bliss and inner-freedom.
Swami Premajyoti also leads specialty workshops, group classes, prescribed individual sessions, on holistic yoga retreats along. Each year, she trains Yoga Nidra Guides, Meditation & Pranayama Teachers and Prana Vidya practitioners. She delights in introducing the joy and power of yoga to beginners as much as she loves to support advanced practitioners and teachers to extend their practice and step more fully into Dharma – Life’s natural and true purpose.
